MIL-PRF-39012: the qualified RF connector spec
MIL-PRF-39012 covers the military-grade versions of the common RF interfaces: BNC, TNC, Type N, SMA and others. A part number such as M39012/16-0101 reads as specification M39012, slash sheet 16 (which fixes the interface and connector style) and a dash number that selects the cable group and finish. Because the QPL guarantees interchangeability, an M39012 part from any qualified manufacturer will mate and perform identically.
UG numbers: the original military designations
UG-numbers pre-date MIL-PRF-39012 and still appear on thousands of legacy drawings, depot repair manuals and government orders. Some of the most requested:
