Which cover fits which connector
- MS25042 and MS25043: MIL-DTL-5015 threaded connectors. MS25042 covers receptacles (plug-style cap with a chain), MS25043 covers plugs. The dash number is the shell size (8 to 40); the D or DA suffix is the attachment (chain or chain with ring).
- MS3180 and MS3181: MIL-DTL-26482 Series 1 bayonet connectors (also fit Series 2 shells). MS3180 caps receptacles, MS3181 caps plugs. Suffixes C, CA, CAL, RA, NA describe chain, ring and lanyard attachments.
- MS27501 and MS27502: MIL-DTL-38999 Series I bayonet. MS27501 covers plugs, MS27502 covers receptacles.
- MS27510 and MS27511: MIL-DTL-38999 Series II (the low-profile bayonet family). MS27510 for plugs, MS27511 for receptacles.
- D38999/32 and D38999/33: MIL-DTL-38999 Series III triple-start threaded connectors. /32 covers plugs, /33 covers receptacles. The W or N letter is the finish and the number is the shell size.
All of these are metal caps with a stainless attachment chain or lanyard, and they carry the same finish codes as the connector (N nickel, W olive drab cadmium, A black anodize). Sizing is by shell size, so an MS3181-16CA fits any size 16 26482 plug.
Why buy covers from stock
Cover lead times from the factory run 12 to 20 weeks because they are low-priority items on the line. We keep them on the shelf so a receptacle is never left open waiting on a cap. Most sizes ship the same day.
Every connector dust caps part number in stock (159 lines, 10,904 pcs)
