About MIL-DTL-38999 Series III
MIL-DTL-38999 Series III is the standard high-density circular connector for military aircraft, missiles, ground vehicles and space systems. Series III shells use a triple-start, self-locking threaded coupling, are scoop-proof, and carry EMI grounding fingers for 360° shielding. Class W and Class F aluminum shells are rated for continuous operation from -65 °C to +200 °C, with 500-hour salt spray resistance, and mate with any Series III connector of the same shell size and insert arrangement regardless of manufacturer.
