About MIL-DTL-38999 Series II
MIL-DTL-38999 Series I and Series II connectors are the bayonet-coupled and low-profile predecessors of Series III, still specified across legacy airframes, avionics boxes and ground support equipment. They use the same MIL-STD-1560 insert arrangements as Series III (a 15-35 insert is 37 size-22D contacts in every series) and remain in active production for sustainment programs.
